Welcome to the home of Officiate This! Bringing news about Little League Baseball umpires, freestyle wrestling mat officials, soccer referees, and Ice Hockey Referees, as well as many others. This site has been constructed to provide a place where referees and umpires can come and take their stripes off, a place where they can share the wealth of experience they have gained over their years with us beginners. This is also the place where new volunteers can be welcomed without fear of isolation. All are welcome here. Feel free to come-on-in and sit down, pull up a chair and let your hair down (if you have any left) and just let it spill out.
This site is dedicated to the many individuals who are willing to accept the control of youth games by lending their time as a referee, regardless of the sport, teaching the many other qualities that come from the participation. Men and women who are willing to give up a couple-of-hours each week in an attempt to give back to their local communities throughout the nation. We know the complications involved: "been there, done that". As each of the moderators here are certified officials somewhere, by some organization, working to get through another season.
As this site begins to pick up more and more momentum, we encourage you to find the information you need to feel comfortable here, or if you have tons of experience, please share some of it by posting and answering questions in the forums. We hope this site will become a "safe-haven" for those who are willing to withstand the "abuse" and become an official for their child's sport, or just because. Good luck and God Speed.
Please register (to the upper right of this page) and feel free to submit any pictures that you would like to about local officials doing their jobs. We'll post ours soon.
Features that are available on this site will assist you in getting organized for your upcoming season, as well as getting and sharing information with your peers. Features are:
- Discussion Boards by Sport
- Articles about Officiating in the "Real World"
- Downloads of both software and books to read and study with.
- Links to other resources available on the Internet, all in one place
So take what you need, leave what you can and go out there into your community and volunteer!
